The season of Lent

"Hello and good afternoon. I hope today finds you as well as can be. I wanted to do something today that is a little out of my comfort zone, make a video and sing a song. This video is unedited, and me. Nervous, anxious, self-conscious, and rusty vocals. No filters, no makeup, and no prep time beforehand. *Editing to add that this is more just myself talking, as I forgot that melody part way through the song, so thanks for listening.*

My heart has a large great of thanks to our friends who invited us to First United Methodist Church Blue Springs, one year ago was our first visit, and we have been attending ever since. I feel like a part of a caring, compassionate community, my spiritual family, and thankful to be a part of a wonderful Life Group of parents. Even my kiddo is growing spiritually as person and I enjoy watching him as he figures out what he believes in for himself.
During the season of Lent, I plan to not drink spirits or beer, and I am going to write in my journal every single day. I’m am hopeful this helps give me what I need in my life. Grateful that the church gave those who attended last Sunday, these wonderful journals for Lent, it’s titled ‘Empty & Filled’.
This is not necessarily a video about religion or spirituality, it is a genuine preview into my life. Today I encourage you to do something for yourself that helps bring you peace, and something for someone else that helps bring them comfort. The world is still a beautiful place and there is a lot of good out there, I encourage you to be that light in the darkness.
May you find what helps lift you up. If you participate during the season of Lent, or even if you don’t, may you use this time to reflect, let go, and focus on what is important. Namaste 🙏 and take care of yourself. 💛"
