March 24th, 2023. What Happened To You? My thoughts and review.

📚Just finished the book, What Happened To You. I plan to buy the book now, so I can re-read and share the parts I’ve enjoyed. 🛍️ 👀⬇️
It was so great, and I believe this book has been a key in my most recent growth as a person, and healing. ❤️🙌
👇👇👇
If you haven’t read ‘WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?’ CONVERSATIONS ON TRAUMA, RESILIENCE, AND HEALING, by BRUCE D. PERRY, MD, PAD, and OPRAH WINFREY, this is the moment where I recommend highly, maybe you should! ✅
This book is for those who have or don’t have a difficult or traumatic past, or have family, friends, acquaintances, children, or others; who have big or triggered emotions when they are upset or are having a challenge regulating themselves.
Feel free to raise your hand if you feel like any of these relate to you. 🙋🏻
If you’ve ever felt lost, or have heartbreaking memories in your past, this book is for you. If you’d like to know how other people may be experiencing and feeling, this book is for you. If you know someone who is struggling at work, or at school. If you’ve lost a friend, a parent, a loved one, a child, then this book is for you. If you’ve experienced a traumatic event, or if you’re just curious about this book that so many keep talking about, this book is for you. 👍
❗️Instead of asking the questions, “What’s wrong with you?”, “Why are you doing that?”, “Why are you acting that way?”; we should be asking ourselves instead, “What happened to you?”.⁉️
I had so many 🤔💡😃 aha moments while reading, and I learned a lot too!
It’s available on Amazon What Happened to You?: Conversations on Trauma, Resilience, and Healing https://a.co/d/d33aRFK. You can also check your local bookstore, library, and can even see if it’s available on Kindle, Libby, and Audible. 📖
For this book, I listened to it on the Libby app, by borrowing an audio version from the library.
📢 I have found this book quite helpful in my own healing, and this is why I want to continue to support and advocate for others. Life is hard enough as it is, supporting someone, instead of judging and/or gossiping, goes a long way. A split second can change a lifetime, even if we don’t remember. I’ve always believed this and after reading, What Happened To You, my feelings and knowledge about myself, have been confirmed.
Hope you find the something you appreciate and helps you, after reading this book. 📖 Wishing you a peaceful present and hopeful future. 🧘🏻🙏
